Fruit of the Spirit

I just love the understanding that the Lord gives us about ourselves and others, regarding fruit. The Holy Scriptures are rich in the teaching of it. I hope you enjoy a little poetic expression of what I've learned!

Fruit

Beautiful, tasty, appealing

Plucked

For the pleasure of others

You see

Grown

By living water from above

Within

Temples created for a Holy God

Planted

With a seed that is pure and perfect

Jesus

The way, the truth, the life

Fragrant

A sweet smelling sacrifice

Spirit

Wherever the wind blows

Fruit

It’s lasting, it’s multiplying, it’s spreading

Abundant fruit

A basket overflowing

With love

That is perfect and pure

A basket overflowing

With joy

That is full and not easily shaken

A basket overflowing

With peace

That surpasses all understanding

A basket overflowing

With longsuffering

That runs the race of endurance

A basket overflowing

With gentleness

That speaks softly from a warm heart

A basket overflowing

With goodness

That knows no end

A basket overflowing

With faith

That believes God can move mountains

Today

A basket overflowing

With meekness

That is humble before God and man

A basket overflowing

With temperance

That walks denying the flesh

Fruit

It bears a life in Christ

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22-23)
